I have been an Executive Member with the OCJA as a Regional Representative since November 2011; but have taken a couple of maternity leaves along the way. I look forward to continuing to represent the Western Region with the OCJA and welcome any input, questions, or concerns members or potential members may have.
Since May 2003, I have been an employee with The Salvation Army Correctional and Justice Services-London and Area. I am currently a Community Justice Worker working in Perth and Huron Counties. For the first 4.5 years of my career I worked in a youth open custody facility. From there, starting in 2008, I began co-ordinating community programs such as Community Services Orders, Extrajudicial Sanctions, Adult Alternative Measures, Youth Justice Committees, and Direct Accountability.
I have experience as a frontline worker in both the custodial and community settings, co-ordinating programs from various funding sources, and working with both youth and adult clients. Further to this, my experience has been in rural communities in Southwestern Ontario where clients face barriers such as transportation, finding employment, and lengthy wait lists for services such as housing or counselling.
